Yeah for everyone getting eggs and chicks.

I was able to get 3 sfh eggs in the incubators FINALLY! But the best news of all is little Lucy is getting ready to lay. Yippee that will give me 3 hens.

10 eggs shipped for bulldogma (to me) are in the hatcher. 8) 10 eggs shipped, 10 eggs in lockdown!

and i picked up 6 more sfh eggs from bulldogma on saturday. waiting for my cochin eggs due to get here tomorrow and i'll be setting the sfh, 14+ cochins and 14+ red dorkings...

didn't want to set eggs only 2-3 days apart, that would necessitate opening the hatcher during hatch to add more. so they can wait a couple more days.

the 3 chicks hatched going on 2 weeks ago are doing great too!

I use golf balls in the nest. Mine was also about 7 months when she started to lay, but they were normal size from day one, not small pullet eggs I normally get from new layers.
thanks

try putting a couple fake eggs in the nests... craft stores sell wooden ones with flattened bottoms but my girls don't seem to care that they're odd. LOL
thank you
