I know my other black hen is one of the few that are laying consistently now. How are the eggs that I sent you doing?
That would be wonderful. They go into lockdown very soon! I'll let you know how the hatch goes.. I've had some great hatches as well as some poor hatches recently..hoping for the best!

If anyone does hatch some that turn out like this one I'm in line for kiddos!

We are on day 23 and they have finally decided to join the world. So far 4 of the seven have hatched and at least one more has pipped. . .when i checked yesterday chicks were moving in every single egg! So far every one that has hatched so far is healthy and happy and of course beautiful!!! The silkie hen is so far a very good mom and has a great future as a broody and mom!

Oops I did that wrong. I'm trying this on my brand new iPad and I'm a bit computer illiterate.
As I type this my 4 th flower is hatching in the bator next to me. I hear her peeping away. Her hatch mates are snugly in the brooder since one of them kept getting stuck under the hydro and thermometer wires. I am so excited to have these babies. These are second generation Greenfire babies. I know I am waaaay far away from most of you but there are a few of us out here on the west coast with these lovelies. Lets keep spreading these beautiful birds across be country! I am hoping for a standard as well so we can get them to shows and share them with more people.

Yay, Sandb!!!!!

I'm new too with just 11 week olds...I'm really looking forward to seeing how they do as adults. I loved the idea of the SFH because they haven't been altered by selective breeding and are likely to be a good breed to perpetuate over time. Who did you get your eggs from?
