Swedish Flower Hen Thread

Hmm...I wonder if I'm counting my days wrong. I've had 3 hatches now where they start pipping the day before I expect them too. I set eggs after work on a Friday and expect to hatch on Friday 3 weeks. Is that wrong? Also I've left eggs up to 3 days in the hatcher with no new birds.
That is the way I figure my hatches as well. From the day of the week that they go in, to the same day of the week 3 weeks later. Mine usually hatch/start hatching on day 21. I have had them hatch as much s 3 days late, but they don't usually do well in those instances.

Ohhhh yeah!!!! I will be so happy, especially if its a hen (we cant keep roosters sadly.) The breeder almost wasnt going to sell this one because she said she wasnt sure it was a SFH, she was just going to hang onto it. I said thats ok I love the color Ill take it anyways!! :) And if it is a SFH I think it will be BEAUTIFUL wooooo whoooo so excited!! Thank you KYTinpusher!
Here are some pics of one of my SFH that is close to the color of yours:

Hey everyone just wanted to show a close up of the detail on the crested pullet I took to show....Ill get better pics when I can! I just love how detailed each feather is on these birds!

And here is an update of my oldest flock!

Quote: you'll be happy to know, 5 are out and doing well, a 6th started hatching in the small end, but i caught it soon enough to take it out of the egg crates (i hatch using egg crates to keep the other chicks from scrambling the others). he's 3/4 zipped now and i'm continuing to monitor his progress, in case he dries out too much. the other 6 all quit between 14 and 18 days it looks like.

still, 6/12 shipped eggs is awesome IMO... 14 were shipped, 2 clear, but i don't count clears in my hatch rates. not my fault the usps scrambled it or the roo missed the bullseye. LOL

Pretty chicks, and yes, the older one is SFH.  Congrats!  Do you know the origin of the blonde one? I've (so far) never seen a blonde SFH like that except in a mix situation.

I have 2 blonde ones that came from GFF directly. They are feathering out white and will probably look like that roo. One has a crest. Squee! I can't wait to see what he looks like all grown up!

I will post once a week then, I LOVE to take photos of them!!

We love photos. I had a chick like the red one you posted, and it grew up into a lovely deep red bird (ignore the fact that roo ended up in the cookpot for aggression).
