What color is this considered

Peep count! I think the hatching is all finished up. I've got one blue one drying in the incubator still and one that looks like it might still be trying to work its way out. If it doesn't make it, that's okay since it might have something wrong with it. So, 1 blue in the incubator and 7 in the brooder! Of the 7 in the brooder, it looks like 3 are blue and 4 are black-based. Bulldogma, 2 of the "E" marked eggs hatched so I know those are definitely blue since your E hen is splash. 10 of the 12 made it to hatch-time and only one of those failed to pip at all. 8/12 is 66% success but if that last one makes it, up to 75% we go! Numbers look better if I go to those that made it to "lock down:" 80% for sure but possibly 90%! Here's a picture of the 7 in the "closet brooder" which is just a little Sterilite shoe box they get to use so I can be sure they all eat and drink before heading out to the big brooder. The color isn't great because the light is just a 100 watt incandescent bulb.

They're beautiful! I'm thrilled you got such a great hatch!

Some interesting chickens next to those chicks.

LOL. The hens that hatched for me are mottled bantam Cochins, one black and one blue. They run with the buff barred bantam Cochin roos and two mottled blue Cochin roos. One of those mottled roos rules the entire farm.

I love my buff barred boys, and they are sure beautiful and terrific roosters, but they need a new home with girls of their own. They are good boys and would be perfect for a kid; we had planned to show them and might still unless they find a new home. But they have been so good with the babies. They sat IN the coop most of the incubation period, watching over the hens, while the others patrolled outside, and have been very gentle with the babies. They are also very good with people and don't even make a move when I'm in there messing with the ladies.

Olympus, the adult SFH, sat at the bottom of the ramp guarding it all day. Hens have not brought the babies out. I put a trough feeder and a chick waterer in there for the hens and chicks.

Some photos of the new group from eggs from Dahlisgrams.

The little girl on the right is from my blue hen (JH10). She has a cute little red mohawk just on the left side. All the others are from Dahlisgrams eggs.

and a close-up

Update on the buff colored pullet from last clutch. It looks like she will be the standard red/white.

Im getting 6 SFH eggs really hoping that I get some of the red and white myself. They Remind me of a chicken I had when I was little.
Of course I would adore some gray and white as well.

Oh SFH how I adore you so!
