He is gorgeous. One of the reasons I bid on your eggs and WON! The question I have for you is do you have problems with aggressive SFH Roos? Just wondering if it is genetic? My husband is familiar with having aggressive roos. He said you have to let them know who is boss early in raising them.
Has any one had issues with sfh chicks being a bit flighty? I only have one about 4wks old and it is bouncing off the walls lol tries to fly everywhere, and squacks a lot![]()
anywhere from 3-5 months... i think it all depends on the roo. mine, being the low man in the flock, has just started to tentatively approach th girls, but is chased off each time.So given the discussion of adolescent roos, what is a good practice for adjusting their manners when they want to start breeding? I have an older layer flock who are quite clannish with respect to new comers (LOL - including two groups that I have added to their number since starting). Also, when do the adolescent roos start to pursue the pullets?
I have 2 that are pretty flighty. They're both girls. Every time I open the door to let them out, they start flying around and bouncing off the walls, squalking & chattering at me. If I disturb them when they're laying an egg, they do the same thing.Has any one had issues with sfh chicks being a bit flighty?
