Over the weekend we candled our 21 SFH eggs in the incubator. 17 are definitely developing, one was a little hard to tell. I'll check again closer to the end of this week when it will be really apparent. Of course the one that is questionable is the one my daughter found. I told her if it didn't have a chick in it, she could pick another egg to be "hers."

Great seeing the updated pictures, Leigh! Your little leopard lady is lovely.

Fingers crossed for your eggs!

And thank you. She's getting closer to laying. I expect her to be a little delayed in that department because of the leg, but she's starting to redden up nicely.

Picture time!

Y'all remember Snoleopard who ended up with a broken leg when I stepped on her? She is doing well. She still had a lump in that leg, but is in no pain and does not even seem to limp. She's maturing nicely and should start laying in the next month or so.







And this is Sorenson's eldest son, Severus. Good wings, no springs, and seems to be maturing to be a very handsome roo.

When I get discouraged with breeding my sfh I come here to get focused again... and today these are here! Snoleopard is the most beautiful of all I've seen. Hope one pops up in my flock sometime!

I wouldn't be surprised if she's NOT delayed... broke-leg kept laying the whole time, first after breaking one leg and then after breaking the second one too!

Her female hatch mates have larger. redder combs and wattles... but just by a little bit.

Was able to score some eggs - only being shipped one day! I'm excited. Usually I follow a dry incubation method. Do SFH require something special?

I've found they do best with dry incubation at my house. It stays about 20% in the incubator.

Candled my eggs last night.....15 strong swimmers!!!

I think my humidity was too high, got it right now. Lockdown is Friday, hatch this weekend!!!
