Here are some new picts of Whitey (my broody) with her hoard of 15. 9 SFH that she hatched and 6 she adopted. I had an Amish friend of mine give me 6 chicks from her rare breed order from McMurray. If any you want to hazard a guess on what the other 6 might be, I'm interested on some guesses other than mine.

Just went out to let the 6 wk old kiddos out and they had grown since I was out there at 6am.

i'll have an exact number of boys and girls (hopefully) by tomorrow afternoon. going to load up all the chicks and do a full head count / sorting (Hogwarts style? ) and wing banding too for the keepers.

then I can tell you what I have available, maybe even with pics! 8) maybe. depends how my back feels after the swap tomorrow. (Roanoke for you locals).

right now best guesstimate is roughly 20 chicks total. actually a few more I think, but we'll see.

Hello everyone! I am new to chickens and I have decided that the Swedish Flower Hens are for me! I am eagerly waiting on 6, day old chicks due to be shipped on the 24th from GFF. To entertain myself while waiting I have read all 9130 posts on this thread. LOL! Can you tell I'm impatient? I am so tempted to call GFF and double my order. I think I have it bad....

I think you're going to need more than 6. but there are a few of us that also raise and ship older chicks.
