Day 8 candleing. 15 of my 20 eggs are fertile and have moving embryos. I pretty sure one of them has twins in it. Super excited.
Any news on chicks yet?

ALpine.. these babies are Adorable!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Congrats on the lovely hatch! I just had a so so hatch with shipped frozen eggs so this is great news for you! Please keep posting pictures as they grow, and I agree, this last baby is very interesting looking! Beautiful!Thank-you!
I was going to wait until Spring and let my broodies take care of the next chicks, but of course THAT didn´t happen. So I now have 5 new babies (good hatch rate, too, I thought it wouldn´t work out because the eggs get too cold at these temperatures, but 5 out of 6 hatched!). Got a nice mix, too:
2 blacks:
2 chipmunks:
and one interesting grey speckled one- curious to see how he turns out:

I am so sorry for that THeelChickinKY@Melabella
And Nero's looking great, too! I got mine from Bulldogma, too, as hatching eggs last year and they are just gorgeous. Sadly from the original 6 girls we are down to just 2! Between the neighbor's dogs , which they refuse to confine to their property, and a determined hawk, we've had a bad winter. We finally decided to confine the poor things to their run until the predator situation has changed. Anyway, yes, Bulldogma does a great job with her birds!

I do love the heck out of this breed.
