Here are a few photos of the SFH kids from a couple weeks ago Theychange so much from week to week that they are really fun to watch grow up. The little cockerel pictured below already has changed immensely since these were taken. I left my photos on a drive at work or I'd post some photos from yesterday

I love her color.  Do the blue Marans have feathered feet?

Maybe some do, but she doesn't.

I could hatch you some, but normally don't. They are part of my layer flock and go broody frequently. My Roo is dark blue and I have one black (feathered feet) and 3 blues and one POL pullet. My Roo is named Big Randy and he is a bit of a hero in this house. Besides being huge, he fought with a fox and won and then chased him across a field! My husband witnessed the whole thing.

This is Freya she is my SFH poulet (i think) Though I think I should call her miss piggy as she is definitely the biggest eater of the treats!!

This is a photo from Monday of my 15 wk old cockerel that is for sale (he'll be paired with a blue based crested pullet).






ETA - It was a hot day and he is holding his wing out from his body so it looks a little odd!

That's awesome! I am hoping that one of my Roo's grow up to be protective of the flock like that! Though I love them both and don't ever want to loose them but definitely need to protect their girls!!

I love his bright yellow legs. Nice!! Did you keep a black based Roo? Would love to see pics of him.

I LOVE the coloring of this guy...but debating on him because of a couple of issues. He has the yellow in the hackles (like a sl) and mahogany on the tail feathers... an interesting combo with a lot of yellow throughout. It's hard to see in these photos because I was using the poor camera, unfortunately.










I think I'm keeping this boy (though I wish he was black based).
