Swedish Flower Hen Thread

I will say that I swore my crested hen was a cockeral, up until she squat for me, only because her comb was bigger. I definitely haven't had enough experience with these as chicks to hazard a "good" guess yet, sorry. Hopefully I will be hatching some of my own in a few weeks if their coop ever comes in

Thanks for giving me hope that the crested one could be a hen. Good luck with your hatching. Not sure what you meant about "their coop coming in?" Mine will be "graduating" from thier brooder to a puppy exercise pen (with a top) this weekend. Check out the nifty brooder my hubby made for my chicks. I also have another batch coming, this next one from GFF, on Mar. 28. So there's still hope for more hens.

I was talking about my adults, they have a hedemora roo that keeps mating them because the shed I bought from lowes that is going to be their coop hasn't come in yet. Once the shed gets here they will have their own place so I am certain to hatch pure eggs.

cute set up you got there

I have 9 eggs coming to me. This will be my first attempt at hatching and I had to pick these. They are soo pretty I just couldn't pass them up. I'm just so nervous and excited at the same time.

Hey guys, I thought this would be the best place to put this post. I am new to the Swedish Flower breed, I have been breeding hennie gamefowl for a while.

I am looking to start a flock of SFH chicks, started to adults.

Anyone that had some they are planning on finding a home for and are willing to ship, please let me know....

I currently have 15 eggs in the incubator I picked up off here and can't wait til they hatch.

Thanks for your time....

Hello kiltednerd! I am in Gatlinburg, so close to you. I have 7 females and 4 males. My gals should start laying in the next week or so.

That is wonderful to know. I am up that way quite a bit. Or at least Townsend. I spend a lot of time in the Cove and just above every little trout stream in between there and the Powerhouse at the NC line.

I would love to pick up some chicks when you have some available. I have 2 Eco-20 turner incubators but really like hatching in under hens.....

Yes lots of good trout fishing in this area... to bad I don't have more patience for fishing and not sure what I would do if I caught one...

Good luck with your hatching eggs! I will PM you when the gals start laying eggs.
