This has been asked before and had no answers. There are lots of new chicks now so someone should have info.

Has anybody bred crested SFH to crested SFH and what did you get? What is the hatch rate? Were any of the chicks not crested? I do know from my own chicks that you get crests when only one of a pair is crested BUT you also get crests in a total outcross with Ameraucanas.

If you don't have a answer in about 5 months, ask me again. lol!!! I got a blue crested cockerel growing out and female red crested. I'm keeping the boy no matter what. I like to have two roos anyways, incase something happens.

Awesome! I have hope! These birds are all super duper friendly. Now, what about the comb situation with SFH's? Should I be worried that they ALL have some sort of comb?

A lady called me yesterday to wish me a belated birthday and tell me she had a gift for me. So today she shows up with a rooster very similar to the one I have except that this one is mildly crested. The feathers behind his comb are long,BUTT, lay down and aren't spiky, he has that combed back look.. However he has spikes for eyebrows





My girls are getting bigger everyday and all 4 still look like girls to me.

So this one has the barring too...will be interesting to see if it stays or if they'll lose that when they molt.

x2 He sure is pretty though.. . . how come people only ever bring me rain gauges and mushroom logs. :/
