Swedish Flower Hen Thread

Bear is a beauty no doubt. Sorry about all the hassle with him. It's a great story though, him riding in his Tupperware in the evacuation!
After some incubator misunderstandings I'm finally ready to set my eggs. I've go 10 to go in.
Wish me luck everyone!

I was wanting to get the reptipro 6000 bator, but with the rush I might get the Genesis Hova Bator with egg turner for now. I found one a little cheaper than the reptipro and with free shipping, so that might just be what I do for now. I know that the Genesis has gotten great reviews from a lot of people.

CathieSue - Good luck on your hatch! I can't wait to see pics!

I've wanted Swedish Flower hens for a long time now, and I finally won a swap for 8 eggs. They got shipped yesterday, I am super excited!!! I don't want to count my chickens before they hatch, but count me into the thread.

Sorry to pick this picture to comment on, but those are some seriously crooked toes. Did you use vitamins in their water? Some of us are trying it, hoping it will make a difference.
I had one with a slightly curled toe and I was putting vitamins in the water. It straightened out. If you're not, I'd do it starting now. You never know!

Nice variety of colors you have!

Welcome to Flower Obesson. I was just the same. Loved looking at them. Like a box of chocolates you never know what you're going to get. Thaks you Forrest Gump. hahaha
I set my eggs last niht. Now the waiting begins. Best of luck with your hatch!

Yes I have been adding in the polyvisol w/o iron after reading about it here. Hasn't helped in this case. This is the one chick I "helped" at hatch so that probably has something to do with it as well.
