Swedish Flower Hen Thread

I'd say most of us are not "selectively" breeding as it is contrary to how the breed developed. If anything, there are some birds that a lot of breeders would choose not to breed - those with badly crooked toes, split wings or other genetic faults that could hinder the quality of life for the bird and/or its offspring.

Some are looking for specific colors... but the whole point of these wonderful landrace birds is that they evolved from the strongest and hardiest ancestors. Nature culled the weak and gave us what we have today :)

That's what I like about them, too... Makes each of them unique=) I was curious just because, well, I was curious I guess, lol=)
 
Ha, that is so cute..how do you get the words on the pic? I have a picture of a couple of hens peeking into my back door. Pretty cute.

I use Irfanview (freeware). Pretty much all photo editing software allows you to put in text, but each one is a little different as far as directions to do it. Irfanview is very basic but for something like this it's perfect :)

Hard to tell, but looks like a pullet! I can't wait to see what she looks like when she grows up!
