Sweet Pdz

Yup feed stores! Basically anywhere you can find chicken food, bedding, supplies, etc.
That sounds really nice… I have to buy all my supplies online… Otherwise I think you can get chicken food from some pet stores but it’s like 5 to 6 dollars a kilo…

Btw, I use hemp bedding. In the first week or two of having chickens, I used straw pea straw. NEVER. AGAIN. It smelt so bad I had to clean it every three days, the whole coop. I bought a 100L bale of hemp for about $33 au. It’s SO GOOD AND I AM NEVVVEERRRRRRR GOING BACK!

It’s a natural pest repellent, smells good, is soft, natural, warm, non-dusty, composts well, carbon-Neutral, is relatively cheap, CRAZY ABSORBENT and is super easy to sift poop out of. My coop NEVER smells. I really recommend it!!!!!

Bet your run has zero odor! That’s what I’m looking forward to most with this in the coop. That and the ease of scooping the poop. I wish I had done linoleum...I painted my floor about 5 layers of exterior paint. I suppose I could always go back and add linoleum
Minimal, every other weekend we add fresh pdz & wood chips into the runs. Coop clean out/clean up. We are trying the deep litter method & hoping that come this winter it will help keep the run a few degrees warmer so it’s comfortable for the animals (we live in Vermont, USA) they do have a stick down linoleum flooring, just don’t apply in the heat & leave out to bake in the sun like we did during building 🤦🏼‍♀️ The floor falls right off 😅 my husband was not thrilled at that incident

Side note: go for the stall refresher instead of the coop refresher. It’s the same product but you get a bigger bag for less $$ than if you go for the coop refresher

We use it under the roosts. Every morning I nust go in a scoop it like you would a cat litter box. Heres kind of a picture of it. (I was focusing on the babies) we are eventually going to build a poop board but for now this works. I personally am not using it in my entire coop because my girls jump from the top roost and I dont want them hurting themselves. I am going to test out coffee grounds instead of the sweet pdz once I need to clean the coop again. I usually dont have to clean that often but the babies arent roosting yet and still sleeping on the shavings so its having to be cleaned a bit more often than usual right now.

I have a 4 x 8 coop.So would it be safe to use the pdz directly on the floor of the coop? Basically as the bedding?
Safe, yes, but that would be a lot of scooping.

Any stuck on & we spray it down with the hose & use a squeegee
This always makes me cringe.
Not good to get inside of coop that wet.
