swelling in hens under carriag area

Hi there my rescue battery hen has very swollen rear end and slightly bald as well, as she walks she flicks her legs up, looks quite funny to watch, she happy in herself at mo but struggles with coming down a flight of steps they choose to go up and roost on. Any suggestions?

She could possibly be an internal layer or have egg yolk peritonitis. A swollen tight abdomen may have ascites or fluid in it, or there could be a tumor. Here are some links to read:
