It is annoying to watch the media in action when they get into hype-frenzy mode on a story.... but my biggest concern about it is that they damage their credibility with the public... which will work against us when a real emergency occurs and delay the skeptical public from taking actions they should be taking.
I still think this virus should be taken seriously, it is a brand new organism, apparently quite contagious, and nobody really understands much about it at this time and why it is killing healthy young people in Mexico. It could still wind up being a serious problem - but clearly the media is WAY too hyped up on this story at this point in time.
