First off, I offer this: I'm an egg fanatic. This explains why I was looking so closely at this egg.
I collected this egg the other day from a new layer. When I brought it in & went to weigh it (as I do all my eggs), I noticed it had a really neat swirl pattern to it. I never gave much thought to how the egg passes down the duct, but guess I just assumed it was a "straight shot," so to speak. This egg shows that the egg actually twirls around as it passes through, which I found very interesting and just wanted to share. I wonder if there's a purpose for it twirling in the duct?
