  1. Okay, my brother got my kids one of those POS incubators... hopefully without quail eggs.... and i've heard that they do ok until day 18. what if, at day 15, i switched them to underneath my giant fluffy hen. Would that work? would it throw her hormones totally out of whack? would she refuse to sit on them? would they be mutants? do you think that the damage that kills them by day 18 is pervasive, or do you think that with a switcheroo it could be avoided?

Are you talking abou the little incubators for class rooms and such? the little yellow one with a 7 wt light bulb?
what do you man by POS?

I have one of those little incuators and I haent had an issue with it at all. it hatched out 6 nice little quail for me.
the issue with this bator is diligence.

I would guess that POS means piece of spit [IMG] (G rated version)

If the hen is not broody, you can put eggs under her to your hearts content and she won't sit on them. Just keep them in the bator and keep your [IMG] If they do good until the end, it is probably a humidity problem, so make sure you have a good hygro/thermometer in it.
