Switching to Crumbles from Fermented Feed?

Hens have been on FF for last 8-9 months using a whole grain feed (I usually alternate a bag of layer with a bag of grower). Working well. I'm about to be out of town for the most of the next two weeks so they won't be getting fermented, and they waste so much of the fines in the dry feed fed as is. Thinking crumbles might be the way to go while I'm away. What have been folks experiences switching back and forth? Do they tolerate switching ok usually? I'd hate to buy a bag of crumbles and waste it.

In your case, I'd try pellets before leaving town. They may resist changing from yummy whole grains to a milled product. Less waste with pellets.

I have found less waste with pellets, I use crumble for young birds and sometimes broilers.
