7 week old pullet appeared with swollen comb. Does not feel especially hard nor fluid filled. Could not detect heat in it, but it’s possible. I would say it’s tender based on her reaction to my touch, but she’s a Deathlayer and almost any interaction can result in a lot of drama so just how tender it is idk.
The dark spot at one end is similar to the darker spots that her sisters have. There’s no visible wound present, and no drainage. I couldn’t find anything else wrong with her.
None of the other chicks have anything going on with them. They are now in a run outside on dirt/mulch and have been for a week so it’s entirely possible she could have been bitten or stung by an insect.
Picture of her healthy sister’s comb for comparison.

That was my thought as well. I've never raised chicks of that breed, so have no experience with them. I do have fayoumi's and the males combs start developing pretty early in them. Some breeds that is the case and makes it easier to guess sex early, some breeds you have to wait til fully feathered or even an egg is laid to know for sure (some EE's for instance can take a while to know for sure). I would guess that is a male due to growth and redness.
