Interesting, so this stuff might actually cure MG? I know all the rest of the stuff out there just treats the symptoms.

I do not believe Denagard will actually cure the disease, it will keep the bird from showing any signs of the disease and you will have to keep them on a monthly medication schedule, just like with Tylan Powder. The problem with Denagard is no one really knows the proper dosage since it is only approved for hogs in USA. I have heard from 3-15 cc to a gallon of water. I have used several bottles and did not find it any different than Tylan Powder. Don

I agree, it is used in the UK for control of CRD, not cure. People are using it here off label with similar purpose. Suppress the symptoms- but don't expect to cure the birds. IMO best way to know what you are actually dealing with is to get a bird tested- then you can decide whether to treat or cull. Most states have free to low cost necropsy services for poultry, and some also have low cost tests available on blood. Where I am, we can get blood tested (collected from living bird and sent to the lab) for both kinds of mycoplasma. If you have a bird that is doing poorly, or actually dies- that would be the one to send in for necropsy.

Just wanted to pop in and let those that were helping me out know that all my girls are better. The Tylan worked wonders. So far the 10 week olds in the yard are not showing symptoms either.

I don't know what the heck this was but figure I will keep a closed flock just in case it was anything bad. We only have chickens for chicken TV and healthy eggs from my own back yard. I don't think killing them and starting over would be a good idea at this point in time. I have decided that if we end up moving in the next year or two (as planned) I would cull and start with a new batch then.

Thank you for all the help. I appreciate your advice very much.
