Swollen eye with small cuts.

I would place him back with his flock. Watch for any pecking.

If it is caused by MG, a respiratory disease, it wouldn’t matter if they were separated or not, since they are carriers for life after they recover. Most flock members could test positive for it, even if they do not show symptoms. It may be in your flock, and most people close the flock to new birds. Do not rehome any birds. I’m not trying to scare you, but chickens can get MG from a carrier or wild birds. It can be common in some backyard flocks. If you should ever lose a bird, you can keep the body cold, not frozen, and have your state vet perform a necropsy and testing. Most states have this.

being that diagnosis of MG is only done properly by a vet i wouldnt just keep sick birds around eachother without knowing its mg

the main issue is i intend on getting into egg production and meat birds. So if this is MG my guard goose who is intended to be on the farm for years cloud get it and be a spreader for life. so yeah it does scare me because that means culling my current flock and my goose.

im not jumping to any conclusions being that no discharge was observed in both birds that showed illness.
