Ack! What to do? Her eye is very swollen. There was a little crusty thing that I flecked off, but it's not weeping or anything. She is in fine spirits, and the nictitating membrane is fine. The swollen area is a touch red, I'm thinking a bit infected. Any thoughts? Can I use opthalmic abx? It looks like it was cut - maybe she was pecked? Thanks in advance for any suggestions / information. The first pic is the infected / swollen eye - the other pic is the healthy eye in comparison.

So I gave her terramycin ointment. Is 2x daily sufficient?

    Thanks!

Just was on a thread a few days ago about this very thing. An eye doctor (YAY) said that you could just use good old triple antibiotic ointment right in it, and on it. He said he knew it said not to put it in eyes, but it was OK. I used it every 3-4 hours for 2 days and have a new chicken! All better!
