Swollen foot on rooster!

There does look to be raised scales on the foot and leg indicating scaly leg mites. The foot is pretty swollen. I think gout usually affects both feet, but that looks pretty puffy. Do you have any antibiotics, or can you see a vet? Is there anything wrong with his back toe? I would try soaking the feet in warm Epsom salts water, and see about getting some antibiotics. Others, such as Dawg53 or TwoCrows may have more advice.

For the scaly leg mites, I would gently scrub the scales to loosen them during his leg soak, and then once a week, apply a good coating of either castor oil, crisco shortening, vaseline, or vegetable oil to legs and feet, and rub into the scales.

Well thanks a million for the advice!!
The back toe is really where it seemed to start or was the first area affected!!
I will treat for the leg mites as you recommend, and I will call our vet tomorrow!
Yes, it is very puffy and I have been giving him 81mg aspirin per day to try to keep him comfortable.

Good Morning all, I am taking him to the vet on Monday, so I will share the outcome so we can all learn!!
Many thanks, just hope he makes it through the weekend, though he is eating and drinking good.
