swollen hocks

Hi there,
I need your advise please!!... i have a polish chick 2 months old.she is not eating well. she is having problem in walking .i noticed that there are some lumps or she is having swollen hocks from the front. her leg scales have wide gaps and are dry. i took her to the vet he says that it might be an internal bone infection or skin infection so, he has given me antibiotic keflex (cephalexin) and a multi vitamin syrup.
It seems to me that she is having scaly leg mites or ticks so can u please tell me the symptoms for this.
