I keep two different feeds out... chick starter and all flock. She seems to prefer the chick starter. I do not have oyster shell out yet because no one is laying except my single hen from last year. I did try putting oyster shell out free choice a couple of weeks ago since a few of them are getting closer to POL, and they chowed down on it like it was a special treat. They ate the entire container in less than 48 hours, so im waiting until they start laying before trying again. That said, they had never been given extra calcium before, and her condition was already well underway before the oyster shell incident.Sorry, I missed the part about her not laying yet. Is she being fed layer feed before she is even laying? If so, it could be calcium poisoning.
Thank you! I think she's pretty too, and she was expensive, so i would like for her to be healthy. She is just starting to show signs she is in pain when i try to handle the affected foot. There are no scabs. So she's not limping?
She's gorgeous!
I put them up last night, on page two.Can you post updated pictures?
Squishy-ish.Okay, sorry I missed those. Is the swelling firm or squishy?
I will upload a video in the morning. Im also planning to take her to the vet on Thursday or Friday. I'm afraid to let it go on any longer. Can you take a video of her walking, upload it to YouTube or Vimeo, then copy and paste the link here?
