I posted earlier this week about my Gambel quail rescue. It had a minor case of pasting that caused some swelling in his vent. Ive been following the advice I’ve received but i am worried the vent is infected and am hoping someone can confirm/deny. He is still eating/drinking normally and his poops seem normal to me (mostly long, firm and the color of his food and white cap)

I have epsom salt, mineral oil, coconut oil, neosporin (w/o pain med), and hydrocortisone. I have been extremely gentle with him and he lets me clean him with no trouble- but I don’t want him to be in pain and I am very afraid he may have an infection

Eating/drinking normally and have a fully formed poop.
I assume he's relatively active and interacting with the other Quail Chicks?

If so, I'd just continue to care for him like you have been doing.

He was given to me in very bad condition 3 weeks ago with no siblings ): I know they are very social birds but I have not been able to find any Gambel quail chicks to keep him company. I spend all day with him and he seems to be content in just worried about the state of his vent

I'd just treat it as you have and see how it goes.

A bird that has infection will be lethargic, usually will not eat much and just acts droopy. If he's eating/drinking, his poop looks pretty normal and he's moving about well, then he's probably o.k.

Okay, thank you. I really appreciate your response!
