“Hi Evan, I’m Lyra” she gave him a smile back but was still trying to brush sand off her face and hair and legs
Evan gave a short nod in acknowledgment before returning his eyes forward. “Lyra... Lieeee.. rah” he reiterated softly to himself so he could remember it. As he moved on, he opened up his bag and screwed open the cap to his water bottle. Hopefully it isn’t laced with something...
Making sure to conserve his water, he took gentle sips of the clear refreshing liquid the bag managed to keep cool as he went along. Passing by a few cacti and a yardang landforms, Evan started to grow concerned for how long he and Lyra had to be stranded out here for. Will we be stuck out here in this wasteland for good?

“Yep” she smiled listening to him repeat her name

An axe-weilding blonde hurried up the dune beside Hewitt.
“What’re you doing here, kid?” he asked. Two kids on the same beach, when he hadn’t seen anyone there before! How unusual!

Saturn backed away from him, raising her spear the moment he lifted his cane. "Cursed by a fairy?" He's completely off his rocker.

Or am I?

This has got to be a dream.

"How do you get cursed by–" She stopped, her attention grabbed by a blonde who was running up the dune with an axe— hold on, an axe?
"Now who are you?"

Heather heaved a huge sigh, breaking into a giant grin and slide-walked down through the loose sand, down toward the two strangers. She waved her shoes around over her head in greeting.

"Hi! I can't believe I found someone." She shouted half out of breath. "My name's Heather. I'm kind of lost, do you know where we are?" She asked coming to a stop in front of Hewitt who was slightly closer to her than Saturn was, though she'd been speaking to both of them.

“The beach dunes, of course,” said Hewitt. “Have you encountered any beach bugs? I can’t imagine you’re any good with that spear.”

Tem was truly in their own little world when it came to the little things. Or maybe big things in noticing the fact the Aros in front of them was an allusion and they never once made physical contact with him. They paid less attention to the fact that their offer of a hand wasn’t taken, and more to the obvious height difference they both shared. It was so drastic that they had to crane their neck up to look at the raven black haired guy.

This dude is even taller than dad.

In attempt to maybe gain an inch, they stood on the balls of their feet, which would appear quite humorous to those watching Tem attempting to look tall with one flip flop on their foot.

“Nope. Not a clue, this place is nothing like where I’ve ever been before. I woke up here a little while ago before being chased down by those coyote dog things... I figured it was a dream or something at first, but.. this is way too real for me.” Tem answered honestly, looking about their surroundings but always keeping Aros in their sight. With their feet growing tired from being propped up, they returned to their original height and threw their arms behind their head. “What about you?”
Aros watched Tem closely, finding a bit of humor in the shorter person's attempts at gaining an inch on his comparatively giant status, and noticed absentmindedly that they lacked a shoe.
But as Tem talked, he gave them his full attention, slightly tilting his head with interest. Their story and voice sounded genuine, yet they could always have been lying-- But they hadn't given him a reason to believe or disbelieve them, so he decided to just take the story with a grain of salt and not truly accept it as the full truth yet, therefore not eliminating them as someone of suspicion. Tem wasn't exactly a special case though, as he didn't fully trust anyone anymore.
He blinked as they inquired about his arrival on the scene of the vast forest, pausing a moment before opening his mouth to reply. "Yeah, this is way too real to be a dream. And... Same boat as you, I guess." He answered, stiffening a bit as they threw their arms back-- Before relaxing when he realized they were only stretching and it wasn't an aggressive movement. "I woke up in some cave awhile ago, with this pack--" He pointed at the item strapped onto him, noting that they had one too. "--and the dagger. Nothing else. And I've never been here before, and I definitely don't remember coming last night." He shared, fiddling with the strap on his chest, trying to think of more things to inquire of Tem to get more information on their seemingly shared situation. "I was in Memphis when I went to sleep, and last time I checked, cities don't just spontaneously turn into redwoods forests." He added blandly, shrugging as he waited for a reaction, curious to see if they'd give away if they were from the same area as him, as he assumed it would have to be local-- But maybe not?
He wasn't even sure of their location, let alone if either one of them were anywhere near their states-- For all he knew, they were from opposite ends of the country and were both abandoned somewhere insanely far from their local areas. But if Tem was from Tennessee, maybe the two of them were somewhere nearby there, if not... Then he was at an even further loss to their whereabouts.

The adrenaline rush was finally setting in, leaving her hands shaking and teeth chattering. The wave of relief at encountering a normal-seeming person nearly took her out, and she pointed at the now blocked-off doorway from which she had come with a trembling hand.

"The walls tried to crush me!" She gasped, utter confusion on her features. "Wha... why?" Her brain was slowly processing what he had asked, and she took a deep breath, trying to slow the quickly escalating panic.

"Okay." She let out a huff of air, attempting and failing to clear her head. "I don't think I'm hurt, just kinda sore. I woke up in that room about 5 to 10 minutes ago, and then the walls started closing in! There was this backpack, and also a blowgun?" She gestured with the thing vaguely, taking in her companion. He was tall and tan, probably in his early twenties, and had longer hair, almost the same length as her own. "Why the hell would I need a blowgun?"

The rest of his words hit her, along with his own anxious expression, and she glanced up at him. "Wait, you were trapped in a building too? I'm sorry, I'm completely lost right now, I don't know what's happening, and I'm all..." she searched for the right word, "scatterbrained. So... yeah," she finished weakly, staring up at him as her arms fell limply to her sides.
Damir looked down at the girl as she spoke, her words as shakey as she was.
He'd only just realised how much younger she looked. She was still just a kid compared to him, thrown into the same messed-up situation and expected to survive. If he was scared, he couldn't imagine how terrified she must be.

"You're okay now," he said, trying to comfort her somehow, his expression furrowed and his teeth clenched tightly. He wasn't good at trying to calm anyone down, especially not himself, but he tried nevertheless.

"Don't worry about that," Damir muttered, in reference to his own experience within the buildings. "I don't think I got anything like a blowgun, but it looks we got the same bag, at least... Did you get a little tool kit too?"

"I'm Damir, by the way." He added awkwardly, not knowing whether or not to offer a handshake. "I only just woke up, too. So, I don't know where we are either, or why the people here are so... different..."

He didn't say anything to Nina, but he was starting to feel like they weren't lost, or even there by accident.

She walked fast but at the same time she was trying to brush sand off her and it was getting stuck in her clothes “I never should’ve tried to jump out of that tree” she muttered stumbling along
Lyra glanced back at the boy “you coming?” She asked attempting to sound like she knew exactly what was going on here, maybe a hand on my hip will add to the effect? So she placed a hand on her hip only to kick some really annoying painful rock and hurt her toes. She let go of her hip and grasped her toes hopping up and down. She muttered a few curse words underneath her breath before setting her foot back on the ground to see what she had kicked. “Hey uh I don’t know about you but this doesn’t look like a normal rock” she said glancing back at him for a second

Evan didn’t necessary agree or disagree to her comment but he figured it was better than breaking something from the landing. “Good thing you didn’t get hurt though.. it was quite a fall.” he murmured, moving alongside her “But this sand is pretty annoying”

As he eyed the desert horizon, he could see the refracted sky appearing on the surface of the sand, giving the impression that there was water in the far distance. Rubbing his eyes, Evan refused to fall for the mirage. It’s just an illusion.. there can’t be water out here can it?

Distracted by the mirage, Evan failed to notice the shuffling and movement behind him and Lyra, and eventually bony skeletal hands started to emerge from underneath the ground. Followed by the hands were arms, heads, then entire bodies of skeletons that dragged themselves from their dwellings. Each of the four skeletons had some sort of tattered clothing stuck to their bones and a wooden club in one hand. Not a single sound was vocalized from them, besides the rattling of their loose bones.
