Will the chicken's actually "mow" the lawn or will they rip it up? I was thinking of putting them to work on the weekend's to mow down the grass in the hoop house tractor.

Mrs. Green Thumbs, they will tear the lawn up. They will love you for it, but they will mess up a nice lawn. Of course we just have weeds & a little grass, who cares if they tear it up...

Yep, tear it up...but hey, works for me. Less I have to mow if there isnt any grass/weeds left there at all!
I scalp the lawn anyway so as not to have to mow so often. So its all good for me! I figure, its like hair, it will grow back. =-)

ETA: It might work that they dont tear it all up if you move them before they remove all the grass.
