Taming baby chicks

Hello all!
Thank you guys so much for your help and support and answering my many questions. I was wondering, how do I get chickens to come when called? Would I give them treats as babies and say a phrase while doing it, making that phrase eventually work? Would that work?

Yes. Saying it right before you give them the treats would also help

I’ve not been able to get the babies to come when called, but you have plenty of time when they’re old enough to have treats! Rattle a cup of mealworms or scratch, call “chick, chick, chick, chick!” And enjoy their mad run towards you! I use a red cup, and now they will come when they see it

It’s just about developing associations over time. I find they learn pretty quickly.

If mine see me coming down the deck stairs with anything in my hand they come running. I don’t even have to call now.
But when I’m in a hurry and need them to go into the run, they don’t pay attention to me no matter how loud I yell.
