Taming young chicks?

What is the best way to make sure your roo's aren't overly agressive. If you handle them alot when they are young, will they tame up some?

Currently I am changing the cage where I have the heat lamp twice per day so they get handled then. I freshen up thier water twice a day too. I just don't want a mean rooster biting me! Or is it just the luck of the roo?

Reading on this board I have heard it go both ways. Too much handling, very little handling. Treat them the best you can, and if they turn mean, then get rid of them.
