Tangled with a fox

I just thought of another question. When cleaning the wounds do I just flush them or do I need to really wipe them out? You know how much chickens love to be fondled, especially under their wings, so I wanted to ask to make sure I'm not doing it wrong.

Thank you! Since they have scabbed over should I try to remove it when cleaning, or should I leave it be and let it fall off after it's soaked. I keep thinking about burn victims and how they get their skin scrubbed when it's cleaned. *shudder*

Thanks. That's one thing I did do is clean, inspect, and treat each wound for infection or contamination. I was still inspecting the wounds, just not treating or cleaning.

I went out to clean and dress the wounds and on both of them the skin around the wounds is sloughing off. I know not the right spelling. The wels is talking now too. Checked around all the wounds for infection and cleaned and treated. One of them on the wels feels hot, so I'm keeping a close eye on it. No pus and I didn't feel any pus pockets around it. It does look pretty deep so I'm hoping that's the reason it's still hot.

Some good, clear and well lit pics might help here.

Sorry it took so long. Do you know how hard it is to keeo a chicken still, raise her wing, and take a picture at the same time. I kept telling them to stop moving, as if theu understood. This is before I cleaned and treated them. 20200821_193047.jpg 20200821_193018.jpg 20200821_193140.jpg
