My mom would just use a regular sewing needle, sterilize the it by heating it up on a candle, and have at it....
We used to just use a starter stud. A stud earing with a point. Some put a piece of potato or carrot against the back of the ear so when it stabs through.
I'm not a fan of veggies so I'd just let it stab my finger.

Yeah, I was kindda going back and forth about it getting colorized. The monotone version came out really nice...hope it doesn't fade much.
Red is known to be the biggest headache (after white) when it comes to fading. It tends to fade so much so fast that it looks pink within 7 years. That was not the case for me: The heart in my cross tattoo is still clearly dark red, and it is 14 years old. But it is a known problem for a lot of people.
But it will all fade at some point. It should still be clear what the colors are in 20 years, but they will just be a bit lighter.

Unless you are someone that regularly gets 2nd degree or worse sunburns. Then the color is just going to be all out gone within 30 years. 😅
