mileage is mileage,, if they tax you say .005 cents a mile,, you get charged for every mile,, they cant tell the difference between "hospital" miles, and "enjoyment" miles..
right...i hope they dont pass this...UGH!..like we need more taxes here in Taxachusetts....
No we are just going to be paying the HIGHEST gas tax in the nation.
Duval is pushing to have the gas tax he wants voted on within the week.
I would RATHER be charged by my milage. My dh takes the commuter rail to work daily and I work within the city we live in. If pressed we can take the train to visit family that lives closer to Boston and on the South Shore.
what made me laugh the most was the "if we raise the gas tax Blah waont happen." One of the "Blahs" that supposedly wont happen.? The MBTA wont raise fares. Yeah. Right. As it is it already costs us nearly $300 a month for the commuter rail pass. It wont go up. Sure it wont.
I only wish we lived THAT much closer to NH. I would gladly drive over the border weekly or whatever to buy gas across the state line. Right now I am looking at getting a bike for the summer. with luck, when the gas tax goes into effect. it will get all the morons off the road and I wont feel like I am taking my life into my hands riding my bike on the streets around here.
not only that. But the cities have already cut busing because fuel was so expensive. Do the politicians really think that it's going to stay around $2 a gallon forever? They add the higher gas tax and even more bus routes are going to be cut. All the other city and state owned vehicles will be stuck as well. DPW, the garbage trucks, the police cruisers. And I can just hear Unitil now! Gas has gone up. we need to raise the customers rates to be able to have our trucks out there. Yeah. out there to shut off power and gas because people wont be able to afford it.
I didnt like Duval when he was running. I am glad I voted against him.
Yet another reason why I want out of this state. I want my own self sufficient place with veggies and solar and wind power.
