Teacher Writes "Loser" On Students Assignments....

Being serious, I would probally have one of those "no prozac can hold me" fits of rage and show her first hand what its like to be beaten by the parent of a suspossed Loser! The Redneck in me would be fire'd up! Wow! I can't believe that teacher had a job after the first time it happened!

amazingly this actually hit the news in Australia last night!

That teacher is a disgrace to the teaching community. No matter what context the comment was made in.....

A nickname is only a good thing when the teacher and the child are both 'cool' with it. In Head Start, we were not allowed to refer to the children by anything other than their given name or the name that the parent put in the file. Not a bad policy.

I personally do not find 'loser' a term that could be anything but disrespectful.

It was in poor taste.

Should he be fired? No. This should serve as a formal warning.

Wow that is so wrong.. That is name calling.. In some states when an adult says stuff like that to a kid its considered child abuse.. That teacher should be fired and never allowed to teach again any where..

I just can't believe it. And it isn't he first time he has gotten in trouble for this. I would have thought that the school board would have taken action at that point!! Craziness!!

well, it seems to fall in line with the whole teacher trying to be on the kids level thing. the boundaries have been horribly blurred so this isnt unexpected.
personally, i would find it more disturbing that he was trying to be a peer to these kids..that would send up a lot of red flags.

I don't see how they try to justify it. It seems like he is making excuses to pick on a little kid and I do not see how that is encouragement or whatever to help her succeed.
