Teaching birds to pose

I'm attempting to train a few of my two and three month old cochin chicks to pose. What, in your opinions, would be the best way to train a cochin (head low, neck tucked in, not up high and looking around like my chicks are so inclined to do) to pose for show? I've been working with my hands mostly, but it isn't really getting anywhere result-wise. I want to be able to show these birds by April, so I have three and a half months for them and I to learn.

Also, does anyone know where I could order a judging stick?
