There are several parts in the series I cry at. The first Threadfall on the original colony at Landing when the fire-lizards attempt to protect the settlers and their livestock including a flaming shield over one of the houses where a woman was in labor. When Zaranth bespeaks Ramoth and some of the other dragons to save herself and Golanth from Tubberman’s mentasynth-enhanced felines. When Moreta and Holth disappeared between, leaving Orlith and Leari without their partners. When the first dragon riders appeared in the sky above Fort Hold and Admiral Benden’s description of events. Sallah Telgar’s death on board the Yokohama and her subsequent burial thousands of years later when the Pernese learn of her sacrifice. There’s tons more.
Yes? Depending on the length I could read much more. Some books like Game of Thrones or The Wheel of Time are so think and have so many characters I go a little slower. It’s not that I can’t read them quickly, it’s that if I do it too much, I don’t retain enough information and if there’s a break between books (like a new one coming out) I won’t remember who people are.
Because you can’t focus on one thing at a time. You are all over the place.
Don’t get distracted. You read ok here all day. You just need to put your phone down in airplane mode and pick up the book.
Because you don’t dedicate yourself to reading it. Lol
Lord don’t start with Tolkien. I read The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings trilogy in the third grade and loved them. The last time I tried to read them, I threw down The Return of the King, and said screw it, I’ll just watch the movie. He can be a bit…heavy winded. Eragon and the Inheritance series is much easier to read if you’re into the fantasy genre.
