#TeamCrossbeakAmber

Pics
I've heard about #teamcrossbeakamber from @Duckpip and @Pampered chicken girl. I'll definitely be following.
Thanks for following! Here's a recent picture of Amber (taken yesterday). :D

(Amber is right. Lilac, a crooked toed EE from Amber's batch, is on the left.)

Aww, they're both so sweet. I bet she'd make good friends with Grandma. I don't know about Tony though. He's very nervous.
Amber is very sweet, though she makes sure Lilac is below her in the pecking order. Lilac is a very nervous hen. She used to be known as the "thief" until her toes grew crooked. Who is Grandma and Tony? I'd love to see pictures of them if you'd like to share. :D

I think you might've seen some pictures before from when that calendar contest was open but I've got new photos. Here's her in her Halloween costume. She's supposed to be a cow. She stayed up past her bedtime to watch kids get Halloween candy and when she went back to her coop, she couldn't see so instead of sleeping by the window in the box, poor Grandma had to sleep on the floor. Tony is the black and white chicken. They are both Plymouth Rocks and Grandma is the oldest at 6 years old. Tony is 5. I have two others, Parmesan (the one sitting in the box) and Mozzarella (with the wood). Both are 2 years old and are leghorns. I find Parmesan aggressive if you annoy her, especially while she is laying an egg.

Oh, wow! They sound so special! And they're beautiful! :love :love :love Thank you so much for sharing about them! Did you raise them from chicks?

Yes. I raised all 4 of them as chicks. My favorite part was leaving the stove light on and them in a box just peeping quietly and I would check on them. I remember when Mozzarella broke his foot, we brought him in the sunroom and put him in a box and each time we would turn on the lights at night, his eyes would get creepy and the pupils would get small.

You kept them in the stove? That's the first time I've ever heard of that. Poor Mozzarella. I bet you grew a closer bound with her during that time.
