Piers would be age group. Homeschoolers would be some thin pickings to start a quality team.

As I recall, there are many schools, epecially private ones, like Bolles, here in Jacksonville, which wind up with stacked teams. The parents recognize a kid's talent, have the money to send them, and they are basically groomed for a career in college or professional sports. I think that may be Neese's MO, even though it's a public school.

Homeschooled kids, public schooled kids, every kid should get a chance to be the best they can be. Let them choose a HS! My family lets us choose from several different public high schools in our area. My older sibs went to Cienega high, I'm going to go to Empire. I say, bravo, he's not a "normal"kid, but Tebow made it big because he tried hard. I'm also very proud that he shows his faith so openly, goes against the grain. He also has good morals, and he is a nice guy. I remember how he took the girl with cerebral palsy as his date to this big event a few years back, just made her life.

The Tebows did nothing dishonest. Florida Law allowed them to do it and they took advantage of it. I think that now Alabama, Kentucky and a couple of other States have introduced what they refer to as the Tebow amendment that would allow home schoolers in their State to do the same thing. They really can not just move around willy nilly. Mamma Tebow did actually move to an apartment with her son and legitimately registered at the local high school. It is not an isolated event and happens all the time with all sports at the high school level.

They lived in a very rural area and he would never have been able to reach his full potential, playing at a AA school, with just enough kids to field a team. As Capvin said, it's legal here, for homeschoolers to take advantage of the school of their choice for extracurricular activites, so more power to him and his parents.
