Tell me about keeping pigeons please!

Well I live in Nova Scotia, Canada, and the Maritime s have MANY poultry fanciers breeding chickens/ducks/wildfowl/geese and pigeons

so I am hopeful to find a local breeder for my birds.
EDIT: I looked up those breeds and I really like the oriental frills. The lahores are pretty too, as well as the mookees, but I do not like the pouters at all! Pardon my opinionated comment but, they look unhealthily off balance

Haha, that is the only reason I haven't gotten one myself. They look a lot like a pigeon that got stretched out in the wash to me.
