You know what I like to do? Give random, sincere compliments to overworked people. Yesterday I told the clinical secretary at a nursing home how exceptional she was in her job and how much I have noticed just how the change in her position from CNA to this position has made her blossom. She seemed embarassed at first but then started talking enthusiastically about her job and the many things she accomplishes in a day. I told her that I had noticed and didn't know if anyone had told her lately...but she is doing a fantastic and difficult job. She was glowing when I left.
I challenge everyone to give a random compliment...it is hard at first, particularly to a stranger, but it gets easier every time you do it and it's like putting gold in someone's hand every single time. You can't go wrong with it and, in a flash, it makes people feel ten feet tall in an otherwise ordinary day.
I stopped as many times as I could on my ride home and let other cars get in lines to drive away in front of me. Driver behind was peeved but meh... who cares
You know you LERV it (and me)!!!! And you totally need another one!
I woke up at 4:30 to the sound of RAIN THUNDER and LIGHTENING!! I woke DH up and we just layed their listening until DH's alarm went off. What a wonderful sound.
I am loving this thread and reading about all the different good things that are happening to everybody!
It's nice to try to focus on good things. In fact, this thread has given me a new inspiration! If something really good doesn't "happen" for me today, I have the ability to CREATE something good in my day.
Let today be a day where we all create a little good in our lives.
Then tomorrow, let's create a little in someone else's life in some small way.
today my DH surprised me and paid for my new shed/ coop 7 x 14! It will be delivered tomorrow!!! SLB's will have a ball in it-then he is picking up HIS insulated shed/coop he built from his job site to put HIS babies in
God is smiling on us and we are so blessed ( this week LOL)!
I am dropping my DD off at Olympic volleyball camp 2 hours away-took me all year to save for it and I paid it off on time- JUST on time!
She had been asking for 2 years to go-8-10 hours a day of intense training for 5 days. There's nothing better than your child being so grateful it brings her to tears. I'm doing something right? She worked very hard for me for months trying to earn this camp trip!
