I got to go on a nice horse back ride with a friend! Yeah! THen I drove home and had a peaceful house caue DH was watching the game somewhere else...now he is home and football is on AGAIN! Oh well...we are here together. T

I got back from Iowa (no place like home)!

Spent a nice day with my DH installing a new garage door (round hole/square peg affair-prior construction). Played with my dogs & my chickens. Fed the chickens some mealworms (now officially their newest favorite treat.) Baked a homemade chicken pot pie. DH said it was the best.

Now sitting here watching Pittsburgh vs Baltimore game. (Lifelong Steelers fan). Time for jammies.

Yep, yesterday as well, the clouds came out so we didn't burn to a crisp

we got a floor and some walls up in my daughter's bathroom now we finish and I can get back to my chickens!!!!!

We got the tin roof on the shelter in the chicken's run! No more ruined food when the rain comes through a leaky tarp.

And one of our neighbors is a roofer, he got us a ton of the tin roofing for $40 - would have cost over $200 at the hardware store.

The neighbor gave me a bag of kale and I made kale chips today.

Tear up the kale into chip sized pieces, toss in a bag with olive oil and garlic salt, lay out on a cookie sheet and bake at 350 for about 10 minutes.
