If you are talking about Pigpen, I'm not sure what he is. I think a little bit of this and a little bit of that. I bought him as a colored Easter chick from a farm supply store.

I keep my roosters because of the way they protect their girls, I have two and currently both seem to get along. They crow mainly when they are out free ranging to keep the girls together but Phoenix sometimes will crow to let ME know that one of the girls (usually Rosie) has gone into next door's yard. It's sweet how I give them treats and they turn around and give it to the girls. He regularly comes into the house as he knows he gets treats there

Yes, this one is a good rooster. He's several months older than his hens, but he's very mature and doesn't chase them like my young cockerel does with his girls.
I just love his eyes! Most of my other chickens have light brown or yellow/gold eyes, but his are black! They look like little beads looking at me
