Tell th difference in the sex

My chicks are about 4 weeks old how do i tell the different sex ? my first time hatching eggs i have 14

What kind of chickens are they? Some you can tell young, others you will have to wait awhile.

Yes, it tends to depend on the breed. Single-combed breeds are easier to tell than rose- or pea-combed breeds, and some breeds mature faster than others. Clues to a rooster chick at that age, other than comb color and size, tend to be larger body size, bolder behavior, thicker shanks, and sometimes an upright tail carriage. Sometimes you get "lucky" and have chicks that start crowing early; I had an Andalusian that was crowing at 3 days old. Kind of an over-achiever, that boy.
