Tell your 'what the heck was that thing?' scary story

I was lying in bed at around ten pm, and this huge ball of light went firing past my window. Any of you remember hearing about the meteorite that shot across southwest Wisconsin...? Yep. Was really awesome, looked like the sun. Actually thought it was either a UFO or like the Mayans were right and the world was ending...only like two years early! Haha I'm such a dork.

I have quite a few, but will only a couple of them.

I was younger, early teens I guess. I was at my friends house and we were playing with a Ouija board. It was only the two of us there. It was only a couple of minutes into it and my friend says "This is BS. It's not real!" As soon as he said that a few boxes fell from the shelves above us with some force. Not real hard, but enough to get his attention. He quickly apologized and it was quiet after that, though we put the board away.

Through my early and mid teens, up to about 16 we rented a house. I knew there was a ghost/spirit/ what ever you like to call it there. The house was a split, so we had two 'living rooms'. The downstairs one was more for us kids. I was down there talking on the phone and out of the corner of my eye I saw someone. I was the only one home at the time, everyone else was still at work. I turned and got a fairly good look at the ghost as it/he walked away. He had on blue jeans, red flannel and work boots. And he had brown hair. I watched him walk out of the room, but he was semi transparent/not completely solid, I could still see the piano behind him. That wasn't the only time I saw him. The other time I was sleeping and woke up for some reason. I had an odd feeling, but not bad. I opened my eyes and I swear I saw this same person looking down at me. He smiled and waved, I threw the covers over my head and hid there. Because we all know that nothing can happen to you if you are hiding under the covers.

At the same time I the 'image' that his name was Duncan. That wasn't the last I heard/sensed of him.

Last one for now. Different house, we lived in it until just a year ago. At the time I had my room in the attic. Sometimes at night, and only at night I would here a knocking on the ceiling above my head. This was the type of attic that the ceiling slants down, so the ceiling was right above me, I could touch it. There were no trees, so no branches could have hit it. Besides it was too deliberate. It didn't always happen either. One night I heard the 'knock knock knock' and decided to knock back. Well, I got a return, knock in the same rhythm that I knocked. That freaked me out. I went and slept downstairs on the couch, then soon after moved my room down into the basement. That was in spring/summer I think. When the weather got cold I moved my room back up to the attic because it was warmer. After a couple of nights the knocking started again. I ignored it for the most part, it was only a couple of knocks, and it was always soon after I laid down, so it never kept me up. And I wasn't the only one to hear it. My mom's friend stayed over and slept in the attic. The next day she told my mom there was a ghost, knocking on the wall. My aunt heard it too.

I have a story that happened a couple years back.I was with my friend and we were looking out the front door for some reason. It was night time and winter but the front yard was lit up by the outside light. To the left was my woods were we just buried our poor dog Harry.Anyway it was kind of windy but at one particular moment we BOTH saw a white ghostly shaped dog run across the yard right in front of us and too the neighbors yard.To this day I like to think it was Harry saying good bye but it might have been just some snow being carried by the wind.

This story reminds me of mine. We had a Deerhound named Tara and we had to euthanize her due to cancer. Anyway, after my brother married and moved out, Tara decided to make his bedroom room her room. At the time our house was a three level townhouse and my room and Tara's room were next to eachother on the second floor. Tara would hop up in the bed to sleep and when she got off the bed, you would hear a "thud" from her mass hitting the floor and the floor would vibrate.
Anyway, about a week after we but her down, my mom and I were down stairs watching tv. Mom was flipping channels and all of a sudden we there a "thud" and the floor vibrated. Then we heard Tara's collars tags clink. Mom absently said "Oh Tara got up, I hope she is ok." I looked at her and before I could say anything, Mom realised what she said. After that night, we would hear Tara's collor tags regularly with the thud and the floors creaking. I know Tara was still watching over us. After about three months, the thuds, creaking floors and collar tags clinking all stopped. I think Tara was just making sure my Mom was comming to terms with her passing and when Mom finally did, Tara went Home.

In another non animal story, some years back I went with my DH to his highschool reunion. It was held on the grounds of a historic house next to the highschool in the summer. I had never been to this house for tours or anything and while the reunion was happening the house was opened so we could go inside and see it. My DH, me, and my Dh's friend from highschool along with his wife were going from room to room. Everything was fine until we got the the kids room on the third floor and entered the walk in closet. Once I got in the closet, I shivered and had the creepiest feeling come over me of complete panic and knew we were no longer alone and we were being watched. I turned to the wife of my husbands friend and said "I need to leave, this is not good. Somethings in here and I need to get out of this room." Needless to say, I skedadled as fast as I could without looking like a nut case and I left not only the room but the house. I never went back in to that house again.
