me too! The Mothman movie made me laugh until I cried. I was born and raised in Pt Pleasant WV. My uncle had just gotten off the Silver Bridge when it collapsed. My mother was young enough that her first concern was that it interrupted her TV show for the news

A few years ago I lived in Georgia. I was riding in the car with my mom (about 18 at the time) and we were driving out of Griffin towards I-75 on a connecting Highway. We were about 50 yards from Wani Rd where we lived at the time. It was late... dark, I had looked at the clock only moments before -- 9:30.

I looked down at my phone and realized Mom had stopped the car. She hits me on the leg and asks if I see that. "See what?" I realize there's a ball of light, probably 3-4 feet in diameter on the left side of the road. As I look around, there's another one on the other side of the road. They are sending rings down in threes into the ground, a beautiful soft light and it was just dead quiet. For anyone who has so much as visited Georgia, they'll know the constant steady whine of cicadas (spelling) is something that you hear during the summer; it just doesn't stop but for 5-10 second spans.

They hovered there before shooting straight up and disappearing into the night sky. My mom and I walked through the door to tell my step-dad what had happened and he asked where we had been, that he was really worried about us. It was 10:15. We were 5 minutes away from the house at the absolute most, and we thought we had watched whatever it was for maybe.. maybe a minute at best.

We still have no idea what it is, but I've never been so awstruck in my life. The memory is so vivid, I can still remember the utter stillness around us, like she and I, and the orbs, were all that was left on Earth.

I've thought long and hard, researched ball lightening and other electrical phenomenon and just can't figure it out.

ok, I'm on page 5...I've got some catching up to do.

Here's stories I can tell for all creepy purposes of this thread...

The first one comes from a childhood friend of mine...friends since the 5th grade. One night when we were in highschool, Sarah had taken a shower and got really sleepy and still wrapped in the towel, laid down in her bed and started to doze off. She then felt a hand lay across her shoulder and give her a gentle squeeze. She slowly turned her head to see someone leaving the room. She walked across the hall to her mom's room and asked her if it was her. It was not but her mom said, she saw a guy figure walking down the hall and figured it must have been one of her 2 teenaged sons. 1 son was at work so it wasn't him...they even called to see if he had come home for something and he had not. The rest of the kids, the other teen son, a younger sister, and a little brother were all watching tv in the front room but all of them said they had seen someone go into the kitchen. They looked around the house and saw no one and the doors were locked. They could not explain it. The next day they got news that thier uncle had murdered his girlfriend and then committed suicide. Sarah told me they figured it must have been him saying goodbye.

Second story comes from a childhood friend's mother. Heather's mom, Pat, was just out of college and had moved into a home with a friend and they were not quit unpacked nor did they have furniture at that point. They had put sleeping bags down in the living room and went to bed. Pat woke up to see a man's figure standing above them. She was so petrified, she closed her eyes and somehow fell back to sleep...hoping it was a dream. The next morning she told her friend she had a really bad nightmare and after she shared the story her friend saw the same thing too. Well, come to find out there was a murder down the road...a woman had been brutally attacked and murdered. Pat explains that she had cut her hair really short and she thinks maybe this person thought she was a guy...she is really tall too...so thinks maybe this person decided against doing harm to them since maybe it was a guy who would put up more of a fight? But when she finally relayed that story to me when we got older...I was majorly creeped out and just to think...it could have happened to her and I wouldn't have my friend.
