Tennessee winter help

So are you saying the size of a coop relative to the number of chickens is irrelevant? If you have a huge coop and a small number of chickens it doesn't matter that there aren't enough chickens to raise the ambient temperature in the enclosure?
Nope, doesn't matter. The more space the better, the taller the space the better for ventilation.
Good ventilation makes moot the faulty concept for a coop to 'hold heat'.

To keep chickens warm you need to keep them dry. Temperature is not as important as dry. You can close up a coop, heat it, and still have uncomfortable miserable chickens because they are getting chilled from the moisture.

Yes, how many wild birds does it take to raise the ambient temperature of the outdoor to something warmer? You don't need to give them a warm place, you need to allow them to keep themselves warm.

Yes that is right. A chicken creates its own warmth and traps it underneath it’s feathers. Size of coop has nothing to do with it.
