So we have Red deer on one of my families ranches... and two of our does did not really care for there baby, so we had to bring both little bucks to the HOME ranch.... This is Teresa and Daniels 1st encounter with a baby deer...

The 1st day was horrible in getting them to eat. but day two... they took to that bottle like nobody's business.

I had to tell Teresa that she cant catch the babies by the neck... because it hurts them... i think she got the idea... but other than that... Teresa is learning to bottle feed them... she calls the deer, "My Baby Deer"

We dont really raise them for meat... however once in a while we eat one... not offen...

They are mostly ornamental.
