I haven't been able to duplicate this problem.

Alerts for number 2, 4 and 5 are threads I have not viewed or subscribed to.

Yes, but I used to receive alerts just for the threads I visited and didn't get alerts for every new post in a particular foum section.
So, is there a way to only receive alerts from threads I have visited/subscribed to?

We need to be able to duplicate this problem... or at a minimum hear from other users that are having the same issue.

So far, we haven't been able to duplicate it, and haven't heard of anyone else having the problem... which means there isn't much we can do.

That's okay. I'll switch off watched forums in the alerts preferences and see how that goes.
I quite like the update by the way.
