I bought 3 yellowish/whitish chicks with a few black dots on them from tractor supply. I am almost positive they are tetra tints. I need any and all info people have to offer!!!!!! These are my first chickens ever, and I could use advice!! Thanks

Babolna Tetra Poultry is a large commercial corporation producing layers for the industry. See their product list here:

Yes, such chicks routinely get sold at TSC and other feed stores from hatcheries. I suspect the "dots" betray that may not be a Tint. Perhaps Cooper Farms is on the right track.

Good luck with your chicken raising adventures, and I hope you find everything you need to know! Don't forget to take a look at BYC's very useful learning center (If you haven't already)! Glad to have you with us. The learning center contains very great info on raising chicks!

Hello :frow and Welcome To BYC! Good luck with your new chicks! A good place to start reading is the BYC Learning Center https://www.backyardchickens.com/atype/1/Learning_Center lots of good chicken keeping articles, this is a good one about raising chicks https://www.backyardchickens.com/a/raising-your-baby-chicks
X3 what Cooper Farms suggested, you may have one of the White Leghorn crosses, most of the big hatcheries have their own version now, Austra Whites & Ideal 236 are a couple more... they should all be really good egg layers.

Thanks to the Moderator for the great information on Babolna Tetra Poultry....These certainly look like outstanding production birds....I thought I knew everything but never heard of this company....Really a big world out there....Since Mt Healthy Hatchery sells two crosses called "Tetra Tints" and "Amber Whites" I wonder if they get their stock from Babolna...
